PhD Scholarships for International Students from Macquarie University

Macquarie University of Australia is one of the modern research led universities of Australia. It also receives funding from government and various centers for getting equipped with modern methods for providing state-of-the-art facilities for research. The University is working towards developing major infrastructure for better research work in the University. PhD scholarship offered by the University to the International students is a step to attract students from all over the world.
Macquarie University International Scholarship is one such PhD scholarship designed especially for international students pursuing doctoral program at Macquarie University. The scholarship covers the international tuition fees of the doctoral program at the University. The scholarship is open for almost all the courses offered by the University except Master of Business Administration, Master of Applied Science, Doctor of Physiotherapy, Master of Advanced Surgery and Master of Surgery. All the students belonging to any country except Australia and New Zealand are eligible for the scholarships. The candidate must possess a minimum grade of 3.7 out of 4 GPA in their Master’s degree and must meet the minimum requirement of the University in English together with holding a valid offer of admission from the University. Students who have taken a similar degree previously and are in receipt of a major scholarship are not eligible to apply for the scholarship. The last date for applying for the MUIS is 31st October 2012. The course application must also be submitted by 1st October 2012.
MUIS Merit Partial Scholarships is offered by the Macquarie University to international students pursuing their doctoral program at North Ryde campus. This PhD scholarship is designed to recognize students with excellent academic record and provide financial support to such international students. The value of the scholarship is equivalent to $5000 and will be awarded towards commencement of course fees. Students studying at City Campus or Sydney institute of Business and Technology are not eligible to apply for this PhD scholarship. The eligibility criteria for this scholarship are the same as above mentioned MUIS. There is no specific deadline for the submission of the application for the scholarship. On the application for course students must indicate that they should be considered for the scholarship.
Each year the University receives thousands of application for the scholarships. There are limited seats for the application and hence scholarships are granted on the basis of academic merit and first come first serve basis completely. Students must ensure excellent academic growth for the purpose of continuing scholarships.
