Sydney Achievers International Scholarships are designed to offer financial help to International students who have an excellent academic career. These are one of the most prestigious PhD scholarships offered by the University of Sydney. International students applying for the doctoral program at this University are eligible for the scholarship. The students wishing to apply for the scholarships have to apply along with the admission form. There is no individual and separate application form for the scholarship. The University is offering 100 scholarships to the students enrolling with the University in 2013 academic year. The scholarship is open to international students from any country.
The value of the Sydney Achievers International Scholarship is AUD$10000 per annum. The scholarship does not provide for the living allowance for the students. The applicants need Bachelor’s degree equivalent to Australian degree in first class. Students who have previously completed their postgraduate degree will not be eligible to apply. The selection of the student is made completely on the basis of merit and the qualification of the candidate should be according to the university’s requirement. Applicants with confirm and unconditional offer of admission from the University would be selected for the PhD scholarships. Selection of the candidate is made by the International Student office of the University and their decision would be final. The last date to apply for the first semester of program is 1st January 2013 and for the second semester the last date to apply is 30th June 2013. The candidates are required to apply as soon as possible because the seats of the scholarships are limited and the number of applicants is large. The University does not guarantee the scholarship to the students who meet all the eligibility criteria of the scholarships because of the limited number of seats.
The selected candidates for the PhD scholarships would receive the scholarship together with the offer of admission to the University. Scholarship recipients are required to maintain satisfactory academic progress for retaining the scholarships.
