Online PhD UK – University of Ulster – Distance Education PhD Programs

The University of Ulster was created in 1984 from the merger of two schools, the Ulster Polytechnic and the New University of Ulster, making it the single largest university in Ireland, apart from the National University of Ireland, which consists of a system of constituent universities. The University has four campuses, in Coleraine, Belfast, Jordanstown and Magee College in Derry, as well as a virtual campus, Campus One, which offers online PhD UK programs. There are five faculties, in Arts, Computing and Engineering, Life and Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Design and the Built Environment, as well as the Ulster Business School.
To qualify for online PhD UK programs, the prospective student must have an Honours or non-Honours degree from a university in the UK or Ireland, or the equivalent academic qualifications. They must also fulfill specific entrance requirements prescribed by the particular program the student is interested in. However, a student with outstanding work or professional experience may also qualify for online PhD UK degree programs by providing a portfolio of written evidence to the Admissions committee. If the applicant is a foreign student, they must also show proof of proficiency in written and spoken English by earning high grades in exams such as the TOEFL.
To earn the PhD, the student must finish a certain amount of coursework requirement, as well as research and write a doctoral thesis. Depending on the program, there may also be certain brief residency requirements, such as on-campus seminars and workshops.
