PhD Scholarships from Nottingham Trent University for 2013

Excellence in public teaching and research best describes the education provided at Nottingham University or NTU which is founded and based in United Kingdom in 1992. As the university expanded due to the increasing needs in higher education, it underwent into great tweak in the context of its structure and organization in 2003 under the supervision of Vice Chancellor Neil T. Gorman. Recently, it has three colleges, each of which has nine schools. Among these colleges are the College of Art and Design and Built Environment, the College of Business, Law, and Social Sciences, and the College of the Arts and Science. For school year 2013-2014, these colleges provide eligible doctorate students with the Vice-Chancellor’s PhD scholarships.

It can be noted that Nottingham University is offering a number of scholarship grants and other financial support to its students. Among these funding are research bursaries and scholarship projects for its undergraduate researchers or SPUR. There are 12 Vice-Chancellor’s PhD scholarships being offered by Nottingham University to its scholars as part of its commitment of investing in research that will help shape the lives of the people and of the society as a whole. These scholarships are available in all areas of research specifications through its nine schools focusing in animal, rural and environmental sciences; architecture, design and built environment; art and design; arts and humanities; business; education; law; science and technology; and social sciences.

Interested applicants of the PhD scholarships are required to submit their filled-out application form, copies of their certificates for English proficiency, their research proposal in their chosen field of specification, and copies of their certificates for their academic standing. These pre-requites should be handed to the Graduate School of the university. Students are also reminded to clarify in their application form the particular subject they want to apply. Scholarship applications are available in the areas of environmental issues, poultry science, lean project management, sustainable consumption, advanced textiles, entrepreneurship and innovation, customer engagement, legal education, democracy, multidimensional analysis of the cerebral cortex microstructure, anisotropic dielectrophoresis, uncertain wave dynamics noisy flow model in vibroacoustic systems, sociology and criminology, politics and international relations, psychology, and social work and professional practice. Nottingham University is also advocating to boost its international and national involvement and collaborations in global projects to. The university employs this approach to make sure that the research will carry out within the institution.

Nottingham University PhD scholarships will cover the payment for your EU or UK fees and the maintenance stipend that will be based on the current RCUK rate for as much as three years of study. Although it accepts applications coming from the non-EU PhD students, accepted candidates would be given the responsibility to pay the difference between EU/UK fees and non-EU fees.
