The Loughborough University now offers an online PhD UK in Business and Management Studies. The university is located in Leicestershire, in the East Midlands in England and is currently a proud member of the 1994 Group and Universities UK. Formerly known as the Loughborough Technical Institute, it was given university status by Royal Charter in 1966. Today it ranks between 15th and 18th in the UK university rankings and it has over 5,000 postgraduate students enrolled. The university had also won six Queens’ Anniversary Prizes including one for Higher and Further Education for work with the aeronautical and automotive industries.
The Professional Doctorate in Business and Management Studies that it offers is a 3 year full time programme that gives students the opportunity to become an integral part of the research of the university’s business school. Students will attend conferences and symposia, and develop joint publications with a personal Supervisor to be able to develop an independent research. This postgraduate research programme is ESRC-recognised and maybe taken 5 years part time.
Interested students for this online PhD UK may apply provided that they have at least an upper second class Honours degree or equivalent; a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English; a satisfactory research proposal; and two good academic references. Accepted students will initially embark on taught doctoral modules and then be assigned to a Supervisor and develop a research. They will be part of research groups and will focus on either area: finance, accounting, information technology and strategy, marketing and retail, operation management, international business, and more.
