Online PhD Degree Programs-University of Wollongong

The University of Wollongong in New South Wales, Australia, gained renown in 1993 when it became the first foreign university to open a campus in the United Arab Emirates, the Institute of Australian Studies, which is known today as the University of Wollongong in Dubai. The university itself was established in 1951 as a division of the New South Wales University of Technology; it was incorporated as the University of Wollongong in 1975 by the Parliament of New South Wales. Today it offers a wide range of courses across nine faculties – including Arts, Commerce, Education, Science and Creative Arts – as well as online PhD degree programs.
In order to qualify for online PhD degree programs for a Doctor of Philosophy by Published Works, the applicant must be either a graduate of the University of Wollongong or the University of New South Wales, a member of the full-time academic staff for at least five years, or deemed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research to have a significant research connection with the University. The application should include supporting documents from the appropriate Faculty Research Committee Chair, which must also include a sponsoring unit, and a list of published works which is the basis for the candidate’s admission.
The submitted material for online PhD degree programs, which will also be the basis for the candidate’s thesis, should include five copies of each work, a 5,000 word essay that will provide a context for the body of work and describe how it makes an original and significant contribution to knowledge in the candidate’s field of study. There should also be a statement identifying the extent of the candidate’s contribution to co-authored work, which is confirmed by statements from co-authors.
