Online PhD Degree Programs – Macquarie University

Macquarie University is poised to be on the cutting edge of tomorrow’s technology, with its goal of becoming one of the top 200 research universities in the world and being among the top eight by 2014, when the university will be celebrating its fiftieth anniversary. Formally established in 1964 as the third university to be founded in Sydney, Australia, Macquarie today has four faculties (Arts, Science, Business and Economics and Human Sciences) jointly encompassing thirty-five departments which offer undergraduate, master’s and doctorate degrees. From 1998 to 2007, starting salaries for Macquarie graduates have been ranked as the highest in the country.
Macquarie offers various online PhD degree programs, which are considered equivalent to earning a postgraduate degree on-campus as academic transcripts do not indicate the learning mode used. Assessment of students taking online PhD degree programs is based completely on the quality of the assignments submitted with no examinations and no requirements to be on-campus. Certain higher degree programs, however, may require candidates attend on-campus residencies for a brief of time. Graduating students are also free to attend their graduation ceremony at the Macquarie campus if they wish; otherwise, their transcripts and degrees will be sent to them via registered mail.
When applying for Macquarie’s online PhD degree programs, make sure to check if you have the necessary entry requirements, which may include relevant academic qualifications and/or work experience. If you are an international student, you are also required to present proof of proficiency in English through the results of the TOEFL or other examination. You must attach all pertinent documents with your application as proof that you meet the necessary requirements for the program you are applying for. If your application is successful, you will be given a letter of offer which you can accept online at the Macquarie site.
