International PhD Scholarships from Curtin University Australia

The Western Australia Institute of Technology in Australia was a pioneer of modern education in Australia for more than 100 years. In the year 1986 the Institute took the form of University and was renamed as Curtin University. From undergraduate courses to postgraduate courses, the University grew and sourced funding from different sources to provide adequate research environment to its PhD scholars. University received grants from the government, industry and various research centers and became a research intensive university. Students from all over the world now apply to the doctoral program at Curtin University. The university offers financial assistance to international students through PhD scholarships funded by the research centers and other organizations in Australia.

Research at Curtin University is focused on development of communities. Curtin University has research institutes and centers to support research students at the university. The University partners with industry and is working towards equipping itself with world-class research and development facilities. Partnership with government and industry ensure that the students have increased access to resource, learning and knowledge. Research program at University is mainly focused on solving real problems of the world. To make research a primary focus the minimum requirement of a doctoral program at University is to complete two-thirds time of program in research.

Curtin International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (CIPRS) would be available for the first time in 2013 to international candidates wanting to pursue research based higher degree at Curtin. The University is offering 30 scholarships to its international students. This PhD scholarship is designed especially to attract international students from all over the world. The CIPRS PhD scholarship provides for the three year tuition fees of the doctoral program. The recipient of the award also receives stipend (money) from the government of faculty or an external organization. The scholarship is available to students of all the countries except Australia and New Zealand. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of merit and need. There is no deadline to apply for the scholarship.

Australian Development Scholarship (AusAID Scholarship) is another initiative to help students from developing country. This PhD scholarship gives an opportunity to students from developing country to study in Australia. The scholarship helps in enduring ties between Australia and neighboring nations. The scholarship is awarded for a minimum period necessary to complete the doctoral program. The benefits of the scholarship include the tuition fee, return air travel in economy class, a one-time payment of $5000 towards establishment of the student for accommodation, text-books and study materials, living expense of AUD$28000 per year, health cover, 4-6 months compulsory training on life and study in Australia. In some cases where it would be considered necessary a Pre-course English fees would also be paid to the students. The University is now inviting application for the scholarship. There is no deadline for the submission of the application.
