University of Adelaide PhD Scholarships for International Students

The University of Adelaide is Australia’s leading research institute. It is one of the most prestigious institutes internationally. Studying a PhD program in the University of Adelaide provides an opportunity to students to work with some of the best researchers of the world. There are various disciplines to choose the subject of research. The University offers domestic as well as international PhD scholarships to its students. The international PhD scholarship helps the students from all over the world. Applications are now invited for the International PhD scholarships. There is limited accessibility to the scholarships and hence the competition to win scholarships is very difficult. The PhD scholarship programs available are:

Adelaide Scholarships International – The scholarship was designed to attract international students to conduct their research programs at the University. The last date to apply for the scholarship is 31st August 2012. The PhD scholarship covers three years course fee, a living allowance of $23,728 annually and health insurance for the students holding a subclass 574 visa. The award of the scholarship is made purely on academic basis and the applicants must have a first class Honors degree. The scholarship is not open to citizens of Australia and New Zealand and distance learning students.

Full Fee Scholarships – Outstanding international students may also apply for the Full Fee scholarships. As the name suggests this scholarship covers the course fee for three years of the program. Applicants holding first class honors degree. The applicants should be nominated by the Principal supervisor and the Executive dean of the faculty.

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships – The scholarship is funded by Commonwealth through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. The aim of offering the scholarship is to attract international students for research projects at the University. In the year 2013 approximately 15 scholarships are available for the international students. The scholarship covers three years course fee, living allowance of $23,728 and a health cover for students holding a subclass 574 visa. The candidates are required to enroll as international students and maintain the status of international student throughout the research program. The last date to apply for the scholarship is 31st August 2012. The candidates are required to submit their application form and submit it with the required documents before the closing date.

The successful candidates would be informed by the University by November 2012 through email. Each year a large number of students apply for the scholarships and only those candidates are selected who have an excellent academic career.
