PhD Scholarships from London School of Economics

LSE is considered the sole university throughout UK that specializes in the study field of social sciences and has already established global reputation in this study as it houses the largest social sciences library across the globe. With its aim to provide education to all students from different walks of life, LSE offers PhD scholarships to financially incapacitated students. In this regard, the university has just introduced its PhD studentship scheme for 2013.

LSE offers its PhD students with around 59 full-length scholarships. These scholarships include yearly living expenses and fees amounting to 18,000 pounds for the each year (for four years) of the program. They are intended for Home EU/UK as well as overseas students who pursue full-time research in any study field offered here, yearly renewal subject to any satisfactory performance in academics. They will be granted based on the research potential and academic merit of he eligible PhD students.

The limited number of qualified candidates for PhD scholarships, specifically the Studentship scheme can be nominated by each of LSE’s PhD departments. However, the decisions for giving the scholarship for the deserving student will be performed by a panel constituting representatives from different fields of specification within LSE. This, of course, still depends on the evaluation of your selected study field, your aptitude in completing your PhD in specific time-allocation, and your previous academic record.

Just like the other PhD scholarships offered at LSE, this studentship comes with a requirement contributed by scholars to their academic department, which is also part of their training for research through teaching or any other work in their department, typically from your second year onwards.

Take into account that these awards require no separate application form. Qualified students for these scholarships will be dependent on the application for PhD scholarship in school. Remember, the competition for PhD programmes at the university is so intense that is why you need to start your application process as early as possible. You may even begin as early as the entry for the 2013-2014 school year programmes opens on October 15, 2012. Submission of additional test scores may also be a requirement in some PhD programmes. If you prefer to apply online, you are encouraged to upload your own supporting documents. Postal application is also acceptable provided that you followed all the guidelines set by the university.
