By onlinephd |

Professionals who would like to advance their career prospects by upgrading their qualifications should consider earning a research degree in Management. You can enroll for an online PhD UK degree at the University of Surrey’s School of Management, which will allow you to work on your research while still continuing with your career. The School is an internationally recognized provider of postgraduate online PhD UK courses in a wide range of business disciplines. Candidates can earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) research degree; while both are equivalent titles, the DBA is considered more of an applied degree in which the research project has to have a real-world application to business problems.

Entry to the online PhD UK program requires applicants to have at least a first degree from a recognized university or professional qualifications accepted by the admissions committee. Successful candidates will initially be admitted to the Masters of Philosophy (MPhil) program and be allowed to enter the PhD program upon showing proof of adequate progress. If you have already have a Master by research or written examination you may be directly admitted to the program. The length of the program is at least 36 months for the MPhil and 48 months for the PhD.

The DBA program requires applicants to have a Master’s in Business Administration or other recognized qualification, and at least three years of relevant post-graduate work experience; candidates are also expected to have computer skills and access to the necessary hardware and software to conduct research and analysis. The DBA is completed in two stages, with the first stage consisting of coursework leading towards the submission of a research project proposal, and the second stage the supervised research and writing of the dissertation, along with other activities requiring brief on-campus residencies, such as cohort seminars and seminar presentations. Candidates are expected to complete the program in a minimum of 48 months or a maximum of 72 months.
