Online PhD UK – University of Reading – Professional Doctorate in Engineering (EngD)

To be eligible to apply to the EngD online PhD UK program, candidates must have at least an upper second-class honours degree in engineering or a related science field; substantial professional experience and relevant post-graduate qualifications will also be considered for entry to the program. The four-year EngD will require participants to complete taught modules in research methods and in the subject area of technologies for sustainable built environments as well as taking work placements where they will conduct their research projects.
Participants in the EngD program will be called Research Engineers and will be assigned at least one supervisor from the university and another from the company where they will be taking their work placement. Assessment for the award of the EngD program will be through the submission of a written thesis that makes a significant contribution to practice in the subject area.
