An online PhD UK course in Clinical Psychology is now one of the programmes available at the University of Lincoln, an English university in Lincolnshire formerly known as the Hull School of Art when it was established in 1861. It gained university status in 1992 and is now a member of the University Alliance, ACU, East Midlands Universities Association, LiSN, and the Yorkshire Universities. There are five faculties of study in the University of Lincoln and currently over 9,000 students.
The Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme offered by the university is for the purpose of training chartered clinical psychologists to work effectively in the National Health Service (clinical psychology services). By the end of the course, trainees will have developed the skills and capabilities to draw upon a broad range of psychological models and theories and also be skilled in a variety of assessment, formulation and intervention techniques. Trainees will also be challenged to work in various clinical settings and offer their services in rural communities.
Candidates for the online PhD UK programme must have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology or equivalent, and also substantive professional experience in the field. Accepted students will undertake mainly taught units, placement units (practical), and research units. One of the taught units will be assessed through Problem Based Learning Assessment and the final thesis shall be assessed through authorship and viva voce examination.
