Online PhD Degree Programs – Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University

Established as the fifth open university in India, Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) started operating in July 1989. Its former jurisdiction which was only limited to the state of Maharashtra was extended and could now operate all across the globe. YCMOU’s head office is in Nashik and it operates through its regional centers (8 in all) and a network of study centers.
YCMOU offers not only undergraduate and post graduate programs but also online PhD degree programs which are satellite-based as well. It has established a number of Virtual Learning Centers or VLC all over the state with each making use of two-way audio and video communication amenities. The professors deliver their lectures at the main hub or from the sub-studio created in Pune.
The university’s online PhD degree programs are on the fields of Agricultural Communication, Agricultural Extension and Agricultural Development, Commerce, Management, Distance Education, Subject Communication, Educational Communication.
YCMOU, through their online PhD degree programs wishes to extend opportunities to people who want to have higher educational qualification but are too busy with their jobs and other commitments. Without having to give up these commitments, individuals even from the most isolated corners of the world could be given the chance to improve their knowledge and skills through online education. The university is duly recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Distance education Council or DEC. This means that YCMOU’s programs are equivalent to programs offered by others statutory universities in India and are duly recognized for the purposes of further education, promotion, and employment.
