The University of Queensland is one of the world’s highest ranked institutions for higher education. It is located in the city of Brisbane in Australia. Its main campus lies just outside of Brisbane’s Central Business District. It has a total student population or more than 40,000 and as of 2009, has a total faculty headcount of 6,126. The University of Queensland, or UQ as it’s more commonly known, is a public University established in December 1909.
Aside from their regular courses, University of Queensland also offers online PhD degree programs. Of the many online PhD degree programs they offer, one of the best is their Professional Doctorate in Economics program, or DEcon. This particular course aims to push for the development of economic research in Australia. This program teaches its students to practice critical thinking and thorough analysis when it comes of economic research. This is the highest Award in economic studies.
In order to qualify for this program, one must have a University degree from University of Queensland or another Australian University, plus a Masters degree on Economics or an equivalent of it. Total University stay should be at least 7 years. Like most online PhD degree programs, international students are also encouraged to apply. Of course, that is with the understanding that they are proficient in the English language. Getting a DEcon from the University of Queensland is no easy feat.
