Online PhD UK – Course Structure

Students who take any mode of MPhil and PhD from this university can expect to complete their courses in four to eight years, depending on the amount of time that they can dedicate to their studies. Some students often start with one year of MA studies and apply for their PhD while continuing their studies for their Master’s degree. Oftentimes, these students can obtain their PhD in a matter of 5 years.

It is important to note that PhD Degree will be only awarded when the result of the research will make an original contribution to the knowledge in the related field of studies. All routes of PhDs will be normally assessed by a thesis and last Viva.

Distance Learning and Spilt-Site PhD Mode:

Currently, University of Exerter is offering a distance learning mode for all research students. This mode can take two forms, entirely distance or a split-site arrangement (if student has access to all key academic facilities nearby his/her place).  University has promised to provide a full supervision support for both modes. However, it is expected that from time to time, student will visit their supervisors and University for limited periods of times. Please note that for international Students to get admission in any mode (traditional or distance),  university does accept international students but these students have to pass entry requirements for English language proficiency.
