Please note that to get admission under this new scheme, first make a direct contact with relevant department. If your desired department is open to split-site PhDs, then write a cover letter with your admission form. That letter will clearly explain the reasons for taking this route. You might need a CV of your local Supervisor to understand his/her qualifications for your research project.
