The Trinity College of Music offers graduate and postgraduate several areas of music, including research degree programs in both music and dance as a result of its teaming up with Laban, a music and dance conservatory. With the mission to provide the highest international level of specialist education in music and contemporary dance, Trinity College of Music in collaboration with Laban support the careers of students engaged in artistic practice and professional performance arts.
With this exciting collaboration of composers, singers, instrumentalists, dancers, and choreographers, the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance offers online PhD degree programs in Creative Practice (Dance, Music and Collaborative Arts), Science in Dance and/or Music, as well as a doctorate degree in Dance and/or Music Pedagogy.
These online PhD degree programs in creative practice are especially advantageous to students who focus mainly on performance arts, choreography, or composition. All of these postgraduate degrees have been validated by the City University.
All these online PhD degree programs are obtained in the form of research course work, which include research skills training, induction, and seminars, with particular concentration on one-to-one mentorship with at least two faculty members.
Candidates for PhD may choose from either full-time or part-time study, and they may also apply for a PhD through publication, particularly if their previous published work, and ongoing research deals with expanding a particular body of knowledge in music, dance, or the collaborative arts. This is accomplished partly through public dissemination of a candidate’s research, whether through performance, conference presentation, and particularly through publication, as well as via a major contribution in the current debates surrounding music, dance, and the collaborative arts.
