Online PhD Degree Programs-Australian National University

With five Nobel laureates among its staff and alumni, it is no wonder that the Australian National University has been consistently ranked as one of the world’s best universities. ANU was established in 1946 by an act of the Parliament of Australia for the purpose of conducting and promoting research in the country.
ANU comprises seven colleges, which conduct research as well as offering undergraduate and graduate degrees, including online PhD degree courses. The most prominent of these is the College of Medicine, Biology and Environment, which offers Disciplines included under the College include Life Sciences, Medical Research, Psychology and Environmental Science.
Online PhD degree courses available under the College of Medicine, as well as the College of Physical Sciences are conducted on a by publication basis. The number of publications required depends on the candidate’s discipline; some might require a single long monograph while others would ask for several peer-reviewed articles.
Articles submitted for online PhD degree courses may also be those which have been accepted for publication but which have not yet actually been published. The candidate will also be required to submit a substantial context statement which includes both an introduction to the subject area as well as a description of the full research methodology used. There should also be a summary of research outcomes as well as a list of references used. The submitted thesis may also include appendices with material such as raw data that would appear in standard doctorate theses.
Finally, the candidate should include a statement that the thesis is an accurate representation of work performed towards the doctorate degree and statements for each published work specifying the extent of the candidate’s original research and his authorship.
