Fully Funded International PhD Scholarships at Massey University New Zealand for 2014-15
The Massey University is a public university located in Wellington, New Zealand. The university was originally established in 1927 and has since become of the largest New Zealand universities with an impressive history for distance learners having over 17,000 applicants currently conducting distance learning programs. The Massey University is composed of many prestigious and highly accomplished faculties such as their business and veterinary programs. The Massey University sees a yearly enrollment of over 34,000 students.
There are many PhD scholarship opportunities available for applicants studying at the Massey University. Currently, the school is offering several PhD scholarships ranging a variety of different subjects or faculties within the school. The PhD scholarships are listed below:
The Institute of Food Nutrition and Human Health
- Models of Micro-Vascular Circulation and Rehab of Arterial Diseases with Exercise and Medical Garment Technology: Deadline 15th of August.
The Institute of Fundamental Sciences
- Developing Pachycladon Genomic Resources and Characterizing Development and Growth due to Environmental Responses: Deadline 1st of September.
The Institute of Veterinary, Animal, and Bio-Medical Sciences
- Family Pet Risk Factors for Multi-Drug Resistant Bacterial Infection: Deadline 20th of August.
Each of these PhD scholarships offers a tuition waiver for domestic tuition rates. This means that these PhD scholarships cover 100% of the cost of domestic tuition for a duration of three years. These PhD scholarships also award a stipend in the sum of NZ $25,000 annually to cover the cost of living and other allowances. International applicants are still encouraged to apply but are reminded that they must be able to fund the difference between the international and domestic tuition rates. These PhD scholarships are all set to last for a maximum duration of 3-4 years in a full time doctoral study setting.
Scholarship Requirements:
- The applicant must have an upper second class or first class degree with honours, or a respectable master’s degree in a research subject relative to their PhD interests.
- The applicant must be able to communicate professionally. International applicants must submit language assessment scores. The TOEFL or the IELTS will be satisfactory for this requirement.
- The applicant must compose a clear and well thought out research proposal. The research proposal should clearly state a hypothesis and the outline of research intended to be used to prove or discredit their hypothesis.
- The applicant must submit a personal statement or essay illustrating any personal obstacles that they have had to overcome to be successful and why they deserve these PhD scholarships more than other qualified applicants.
- The applicant must supply at least two academic references.
- The applicant is required to submit all previous academic transcripts, as well as any other academic achievement that can be used to determine academic merit.
