Remember these kinds of arrangements can be possible on case to case base situations, where university will be satisfied that student have local research facilities (equivalent to UK research facilities and plans) and local supervisory arrangements. If this can be arranged than this kind of PhD can be considered as a distance PhD or Online PhD.
