Online PhD Degree programs – The University of Queensland – Professional Doctorate in Laws (LLD)

The University of Queensland now offers online PhD degree programs including a Professional Doctorate in Laws. Often referred to as the sandstone university, the University of Queensland (UQ) is located in Brisbane Australia; and is a member of the Group of eight Australian Lobby Group and the Universitas 21, an international association of research-intensive universities. The University of Queensland was founded in 1909, and is therefore the oldest in Queensland and the fifth oldest in the country.
Among the online PhD degree programs offered, the Professional Doctorate in Laws course is the highest academic award in law specifically made for legal scholars who wish to make outstanding contributions to legal science through 16 units of postgraduate research. Candidates for this program must have a Bachelor of Laws Degree or Juris Doctor for seven years standing. If not, candidate must have a Master of Laws Degree of fours years standing or a PhD in Law. The course will require the students to have individual research work culminating the program with a thesis that uniquely contributes to the knowledge in legal science.
Applications for online PhD degree programs, specifically for the Doctor of Laws program, must be lodged through the School of Law. Candidates must have applied by October 15 (for category 3 and 4 countries) or by November 15 (for category 1 and 2 countries) to be able to commence study in the first semester.
