The University of Leicester is now featuring an online PhD UK programme in Clinical Psychology. The University of Leicester is a research led university in England that currently accommodates about 7,000 part-time or distance learning students. Named University of the Year by the Times Higher Education in 2008, the University of Leicester is an institution organized into four colleges supported by corporate services. It is an affiliate of the 1994 Group, AMBA, EUA, ACU, EMUA, and INU.
The university’s online PhD UK course in Clinical Psychology aims to train professionals such that they will be able to promote psychological well-being through systematic application of knowledge derived from psychological theory and also the evidence base. Candidates are highly encouraged to practice critical inquiry and debate the value of different models of clinical psychology as well as the different approaches to clinical work.
Applicants for this online PhD UK programme should have high qualifications in psychology such that they hold Graduate Basis for Registration of the British Psychological Society. The course is a fully accredited three-year professional training that involves clinical teaching, clinical experience in a range of local clinical settings, and more importantly, the completion of research projects. There will be a diversity of teaching styles. Included in the course are problem-based learning, workshop and seminar-based teaching, and the use of role playing and videos to develop clinical skills.
Applications for the course must submit to the Clearing House for Postgraduate Courses in Clinical Psychology. Courses begin in autumn, therefore applications close on December 1 on the year prior to the programme’s commencement.
