The online PhD UK Health Care program is designed for medical professionals who want to undertake a doctoral-level course that will provide them with cutting-edge knowledge that they will also learn to apply to professional practice. Program duration is four to seven years on a part-time basis at the School of Health, Community and Education Studies. Applicants to the Professional Doctorate Health Care program should have recognized professional qualifications in related medical disciplines such as nursing, and have three years of professional experience in a related field.
Candidates will appear for an interview at the university during which they will provide a summary of their research proposal and identify the workplace at which they will undertake their work placement. The online PhD UK program requires students to undertake six core and a number of optional taught modules on research skills, evaluating practice, learning and professional development as well as several empirical and practice projects. Having Master’s-level qualifications may allow students to be exempted from taking a number of taught modules.
At the conclusion of the program, graduates should be able to make informed judgments on complex issues in specializations without the benefit of complete data. They may also exit the program with a range of other postgraduate awards if they are not able to successfully fulfill all the requirements for a professional doctorate.
