The Professional Doctorate Program in Business Administration, leading to the award of a DBA, is an advanced qualification that allows candidates to conduct research at their own pace that will make a significant contribution to professional practice in their workplace. The part-time online PhD UK DBA is estimated to take from four to nine years to complete.
Normally, candidates to the online PhD UK DBA program should already hold a Masters in Business Administration or a related qualification that will demonstrate their ability to conduct advanced research and successfully complete the program. However, applicants with a good first degree in a related discipline may also be considered for entry into the doctorate program after completing 120 credits of taught Masters modules that will give them training in research methodologies. Candidates then prepare for their research projects through advanced research courses in literature review and ontological, epistemological and methodological perspectives.
Award of the DBA is upon successful assessment of the doctoral thesis through a viva voce defense. Candidates for a DBA may also opt to exit the program with a Master of Research (MRes) after completing the first part of the Professional Doctorate program.
