The Lancaster University located in Lancaster, Lancashire in England is a university that has received plenty of accolades. Currently, it is ranked as the 7th highest research institution in the UK universities as mentioned in the Good University Guide. The University, itself, is divided into three different faculties which include the following: The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, The Faculty of Science and Technology and The Faculty of Management. Besides these faculties, the university also has eight undergraduate colleges; seven are named after regions within the traditional county of Lancashire. The post-graduate college, which was established in 1992, was simply named the Graduate College.
The Lancaster University’s Professional Doctorate on Clinical Psychology is considered to be one of the best. The entire course focuses on four core areas which include adults, children and family, people with learning disabilities and older adults. Most of the teaching would be done by clinical psychologists. Available specialist topics to choose from come year 3 would include health psychology, forensic, psychotherapy and substance abuse.
Admission to the university’s online PhD UK program on Clinical Psychology would include passing an online application form where your qualifications would be assessed. Once you’ve been short-listed, you would then be invited to partake in an online written task that should last for about an hour. The 69 candidates who get the highest scores would have to take another similar test in the university, itself, which is then followed by an interview.
Do note that a three-year research teaching curriculum would be integrated into the main teaching program. This would serve the purpose of preparing the trainees for research as they move forward the online PhD UK program.
