50 PhD Scholarships from Imperial College London for 2014-15
London’s higher learning institution Imperial College offers its students several disciplines based in science since 1907. This public research university specialises in the subject areas like engineering, business, medicine and science. It actually has one of the largest higher education institution estates in UK. It has consistent high ranking among universities across the globe. In fact, it ranks 5th in the QS World University Rankings in 2013. It serves as a hub in terms of biomedical research and one of the British universities’ “golden triangle.” It has prestigious scheme in its scholarship programs. Its PhD scholarships provide most talented students from different parts of the globe with opportunity in applying studentships.
Imperial College’s PhD scholarships are available to any students anywhere in the world provided that they have the highest educational standards and those who want to gain new knowledge. The programs are aimed at offering over 50 research students an opportunity to have work in selected field. They allow qualified students to conduct research on their preferred subject with the guidance of a supervisor. They provide PhD scholars with full tuition fees, £20,200 annual stipend and £2,000 consumable fund for the first three years of PhD study.
For the academic year 2014-2015, the college announces that its funded places start on July 1, 2014. Successful scholarship applicants will be given access to career development programme and activities from the Graduate School and host department. Scholars will receive support from a high degree of interaction with the other students or researchers opening opportunities for collaboration and networking.
Interested PhD programme scholarship applicants should be among the outstanding students in their undergraduate class and about to receive or in receipt of first class British degree or its equivalent. Applicants with qualifications in Master’s degree are expected to have distinction or provide evidence showing their high performance. They should be holders of first class undergraduate degree or its equivalent. Applicants coming from institutions outside UK are highly recommended to assess their academic performance whether their grades/scores are equivalent to the specified eligibility criteria. But before their application, candidates are suggested to contact first a supervisor from their desired department to guide them in their chosen field of research. Meanwhile, students who are already registered in any of the PhD at Imperial College are disqualified from applying for any scholarship grant.
Imperial recently announces its acceptance of PhD scholarships applications for 2014-2015. Applicants need to submit their admission application through the online admissions system of the college. Personal statement is expected to cover about 1000 words and research and academic achievements with brief explanation of planned research project. Self-Nomination Form should be filled-out and attached to the application form for review and selection. All applications submitted for the scholarship will be considered throughout the year. Successful applications submitted before November 4, 2013 will be notified by February 1, 2014, those submitted before February 3, 2014 will be notified on April 1, 2014 and those submitted before April 28, 2014 will be notified on July 1, 2014.
Imperial College also encourages all interested, prospective candidates of PhD scholarships to apply before the deadline and be guided.
