PhD Scholarship Programs from University Of Essex
University of Essex offers PhD Scholarship Programs to gifted postgraduates, and Social Science Research Scholarship to support PhD students who are interested to study within the Faculty of Social Sciences.

WHO ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP?
I. University Of Essex Scholarships
This PhD Scholarship program is can be availed of by all students (overseas and Home/EU) whether studying part time or full time. In addition, you must:
i. Have an offer by the University of Essex for a PhD, Integrated PhD or part-time Professional Doctorate;
ii. have received an offer for Masters;
iii. Accomplish and submit the Scholarship application form on or before March 31, 2012.
PhD Scholarship is also available in Accounting.
II. University Of Essex Social Science Research Scholarship
These PhD Scholarship programs can be availed of by all students (overseas and Home/EU) whether studying on a full-time or part-time basis at the University of Essex. In addition, you must:
i. Have an offer from the University of Essex for a PhD.
ii. Need to apply for a new program of study, starting in October 2012. Students who are at present completing one degree at University and desire to avail support for another qualified degree are eligible to apply.
PhD Scholarship Programs – HOW MUCH IS THE SCHOLARSHIP WORTH?
I. University Of Essex Scholarships
£10,000 For research students only
£5,000 For research or Masters students
£2,000 For research or Masters students
II. University Of Essex Social Science Research Scholarship
i. Doctoral Scholarship- is a full PhD scholarship program that covers fees, provides £12,000 stipend for each year of the 3 years of study and £750 research allowance over the life of the PhD.
ii. Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) Scholarship – offers £4,000 scholarship in the 1st year of the PhD and a post in the Department as teaching assistant, worth £3,500 in the region (available in years 2 and 3 of the PhD).
iii. Graduate Teaching Assistantship – offers students post in the Department as teaching assistant worth £3,000 in the region (available in years 1, 2 and 3).
iv. Research Assistantship – offers to students post as research assistant in the Department worth £1,500 in the region (available in years 1, 2 and 3).
PhD Scholarship Programs – HOW TO APPLY
1. University Of Essex Scholarships
Last day of submission of Applications for the University of Essex Scholarships will be on March 31, 2012. myEssex applicant portal should be used in sending application which will be available for your use upon receipt of official offer of admission from the Graduate Admissions Office.
2. University Of Essex Social Science Research Scholarship
Once you received the offer from the University of Essex to study for a PhD, accomplish the application form at once and submit it, and include your reference and research proposal addressed to the Graduate Administrator of the academic department of your preference on or before March 31, 2001.
Successful candidates for these PhD Scholarship Programs will be notified by April 30, 2012.
