PhD Scholarships from University of Exeter for 2013

South West, England-based University of Exeter is a public-oriented research educational institution considered as one of the top universities in United Kingdom. It serves as the central higher education in the city of Exeter that has maintained its 10th rank in the list of the National Student Survey. It has been recognized as the 2013 Sunday Times University of the Year. These study grants are provided to finance its doctoral programs in 31 subjects that were evaluated and included in the list of the top in the world-leading research. In fact, almost 90% of its research was received international recognition. The awards cover all fees incurred by students along with a maintenance grant available up to three years of study in the extensive range of the university’s subject areas.
PhD students will be provided by the university with greater opportunity to collaborate with the top-notch experts when it comes to research. They will be placed and allowed to experience a world-class environment in research with 120 million pounds in its investment to research infrastructure. They will be assured to have teaching and research training through its Learning and Teaching Programme in Higher Education and its Researcher Development Programme. They will also be prepared for strong culture in interdisciplinary research with opportunities to work in the areas of humanities, social sciences, arts, and science.
The university is offering one full doctoral studentship for its PhD, EdD, and MPhil international students who are taking programmes in one of its departments such as Education, Politics, Sociology and Philosophy, Arab and Islamic Studies, and Law. Among these PhD scholarships are PhD scholarship in synthetic biology and systems and in medicine.
It is noted that these scholarships are available to part-time and full-time international students studying any programme it provides. The mode of payment for students studying in a part-time environment will be paid based on pro-rata scheme. These PhD scholarships will only be granted to eligible applicants who have enrolled any programme of their own choice. The awards are being paid in installments during the enrolment period. Their continued payment is also subjected to the satisfactory annual performance of the scholars. This only indicates that students should maintain their academic standing so that their study awards will not be stopped.
