The Imperial College PhD Scholarship Scheme is designed for PhD students who are equipped with skill in creativity and strong drive to further their PhD at this world notable university. The scheme offers 50 PhD scholarships, both in local and international locations. These scholarships are offered to fund research in engineering, business, medicine, or science. They are fully funded payments as well as a stipend amounting to 20,000 pounds annually for a maximum of 3.5 years. They are available for applicants from UK, European Union countries, and other countries outside UK. Successful students will be given the opportunity to work with experts who are well-known in the international academic arena.
Upon approval for any of the scholarship offerings, scholars will be granted access to a programme for the development of their career and activities delivered by the Graduate School and their host their PhD departments. They will be given high level of interaction with research users and other researchers. This will open then to chances for integration and networking.
Eligible candidates for the scholarships are students who belong to the list of achievers during their undergraduate studies and are about to receive a first class degree in UK or its equivalent. Applicants with Master’s degree are expected to have distinction or should provide evidence of their high performance. Those who attained their degrees from overseas schools are required to identify whether or not their grades or scores are equivalent to the eligibility criteria set by the university. Candidates are also required to have contact with an academic department’s supervisor who will be supervising their research chosen project.
Applications for the PhD scholarships can be submitted through the online admissions system of Imperial. Students should make sure that their personal statement outlines their research and academic achievements consisting about 1000 words.
