PhD Scholarships and Studentships from University of Hull

For academic year 2013-2014, the University of Hull offers its PhD scholarships for EU/UK and international students at different faculties namely the Hull University Business School or HUBS, the Faculty of the Arts & Social Sciences or FASS, the Faculty of Health & Social Care, the Hull York Medical School or HYMS, the Faculty of Education, and the Faculty of Sciences or FOS. These studentship grants include tuition fees equivalent to the cost of preferred research program and maintenance allowance amounting to 13,590 pounds on a yearly basis for the normal duration, for up to three years. Such amount is still subjected for final confirmation that is dependent on the satisfactory progress of the students. Take into account that non EU/UK scholarship applicants will be required to pay the difference of fees between non-EU/UK and EU/UK scholarships. The PhD fee bursaries given to international students include full tuition fees for overseas students taking their degrees on a full-time basis.
Among the research fields for these scholarships are accountability and accounting, marketing, corporate social responsibility, mental health and well-being, obesity and reproduction, American studies, law studies, arts and new media, politics, social sciences, sexual health and maternal reproductive health, and performance arts. A joint PhD with the Australia-based University of Melbourne on Systems Thinking for Sustainability is also available at the university.
The PhD scholarships are available to deserving students provided that they have completed all the documents and other requirements. They are granted based on research proposal, research strategy, and the overall application. Successful applicants of PhD scholarships should have a minimum of upper second class honors degree or its equivalent in their chosen research topic. Those who passed in their scholarship application will be given notification by March 29, 2013.
University of Hull PhD students follow research modules and transferable skills development and have attained a Masters certificate or diploma in specific research training other than their degree in research. It is pointed out that these studentship applications are sought from people who are qualified and who are interested in pursuing research degree programs that may lead to PhD status supervised by expert and leading researchers.
The university clarifies that the closing date for the PhD scholarship applications on January 11, 2013. It notes that these studentships will commence in September 2013.
