The program leads to an award of a Doctorate in Medicine (DM), which is considered a superspecialty degree.
Applicants for the online PhD UK DM program should be a graduate in Medicine of Nottingham or other recognized medical school whose qualifications would be eligible for registration with the UK General Medical Council. Successful candidates will initially be enrolled in a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program to train them in advanced research techniques; their progress will be evaluated after nine months to a year in the program and if deemed satisfactory, they will be allowed to enroll in the doctorate program.
