PhD Scholarships from Canterbury Christ Church University for 2013

Anglican university Canterbury Christ Church University has just celebrated its centenary in educational training in 2012. The university is widely known for being one of the distinct universities in England that is committed to the education of those individuals who intend to enter public service career. It promises its students a very supportive learning culture carried out with the use of its state-of-the-art facilities. It believes on the significance of directing learning to help students attain their goals and have strong industry connections and viable focus on employability. All these are provided to students with the aid of its sports centre, CLIC Student Portal, iBorrow, Bookshop, IT & library facilities, and student centre. PhD scholarships are also available for its students who are financial incapacitated, but are interested to further their studies in higher education. For the incoming 2013-2014 academic year, the university’s Graduate School is offering PhD/MPhil Scholarships to deserving applicants.

The Graduate School department of the university is accepting submission of applications for its full-time PhD scholarships from EU, domestic, and overseas students until April 30, 2013. It points out that these applications will be considered for the October 1, 2013 registration. The study grants cover free tuition fee good for three times, expenses allowance of £500 a year for the conference attendance, and £11,700 annual stipend. It clarifies that these amounts are free from any tax burden. They are available in different range od subject areas and themes including:

  1. Applied Childhood Studies
  2. Arts and Humanities – English literature, music, theology and religious studies, media and culture studies, applied linguistics, and history
  3. Education – curriculum innovation, families, children and communities, professional identities, belief, faith and values, and inclusion and social justice
  4. Social and Applied Sciences – psychology, sport and exercise science, biological sciences, tourism studies, sociology, business and management and finance, politics and international relations, and geography
  5. Health and Social Care – nursing and midwifery, public health, and allied health professionals.

The university makes it a point that the PhD scholarships will only be considered based on the provided forms. It won’t be accepting additional documents such as proposal papers or curriculum vitae. It expects candidates to have full responsibility in asking for the academic references through its email address or to its campus address. Applicants will know whether they were shortlisted to any of the scholarships applied by June 10, 2013. The shortlisted candidates then will be notified if their applications were considered by June 27 of the same year.

As soon as they receive any of the PhD scholarships they applied, they will be ready for enrollment for their chosen field of research specification. They will be accepted whenever they complied with the following requirements:

  1. An academic degree such as an Upper Second Class Honors and 2 academic reference
  2. An appropriate research supervision
  3. An academic interview
  4. Available resources such as fieldwork, time, library access, and time
  5. International students are required to abide with the current Tier 4 visa regulations of the UK Border Agency.
