International PhD Scholarships from University of Nottingham

Also called Nottingham University, University of Nottingham is known as a public research institution which is one of the largest and oldest in terms of higher education in Great Britain. The university has five faculties and offers students with 50 subjects. Its PhD departments cover the subject areas of arts, engineering, science, social science, and medicine and health sciences. It is offering various PhD scholarships for international students in line with its commitment to make known their students in the international setting and encourage diversity among them. Among these scholarships, Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship for Research Excellence (both for European Union and International students) will be the focus of this article.
Nottingham University announces the availability of its application form for its 2013 international scholarships at its International Office. The Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship for Research Excellence for international students covers full tuition fees for the university’s 50 scholarships. Application for these PhD scholarships are applicable to students who are identified as overseas students for fees and those who already received offer to commence a PhD or MPhil research programme in a full time basis for any field of specification either in September 2013 or in October 2013. Applications for these scholarships will be closed at 12 mid-day on March 1, 2013.
The Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship for Research Excellence for students from the European Union countries pays the full tuition fees for 30 scholarships. It is noted that each of the scholarships includes an additional stipend of 8,400 pounds every year. Qualified candidates for these scholarships are those who are identified as students of one of the European Union academic institutions and those who are already received offer to begin a full time PhD or MPhil programme in any subject matter at the university either in September 2013 or October 2013. Similar to that of the international scholarships for overseas students, the offering for these scholarships will only be until 12 mid-day on March 1, 2013.
All prospective applicants for the international scholarships are required to submit necessary documents such as the supporting statement that details how they can benefit from the scholarship they are applying as well as their academic achievements in the subject area of their preference including any examination results attained, predicted exam results, or school prizes. In the instance that there are applicants who failed to submit on deadline will still be considered by the university’s Faculty Finance Officers where the dean will be recommending a shortlist of candidates who are suitable for the scholarships. This will then be regarded as the final stage of application process.
Take into consideration that the scholarships are provided for as much as three years of research degree programme at any subject for three years. It pointed out that they are still subjected to the satisfactory progress of the international students.
All these PhD scholarships are specifically designed to aid diversity, encourage academic excellence, build relationships with the sponsors, and provide financial aid in cases of hardship (either regionally or individually).
