Online PhD UK – University of Kent – Professional Doctorate in Politics and Government

Online PhD UK courses are now put forward by the University of Kent, including an online PhD UK programme in Politics and Government. The plate glass campus university is located in Canterbury, Medway, Tonbridge, Brussels, Paris, UK, Belgium, and France; as it has wonderfully expanded through time. Each of its colleges is named after distinguished scholars namely: Eliot the poet, Rutherford the physicist, Keynes the economist, Darwin the biologist, and the writer Woolf. The University is organized into 3 main academic faculties covering Humanities, Social Sciences, and Sciences. Today there are over 18,000 students enrolled in the University of Kent, over 3,000 of which are postgraduate learners. The university is also an affiliate of the Commonwealth Universities and the European University Association.
The Professional Doctorate in Politics and Government course is a three year full-time programme in which students will do an independent research and come up with a thesis (maximum of 100,000 words). The students will each go through the research under supervision by two academic staff members and must create an original research piece that contributes to the knowledge in the field; and may have scholarly merit which will justify it for publication.
Entry requirements to the online PhD UK programme include a Masters Degree or MPhil in a relevant area with Distinction or Merit from a UK university. The Degree must come with a first or second upper class honours degree. The doctoral programme provides a combination of formal research training and regular interaction between staffs and students. A Graduate Research Training Seminar will take place every week. Those who do not undergo formal training may do so through modules in Methods of Social Research.
Interested applicants are encouraged to enter in the month of September or January. Applications may be accepted any time of the year and may be submitted online. Candidates must also submit a 1,500-word research proposal upon application.
