Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarships and International Merit Scholarship From Macquarie University for 2014-15
Macquarie University is a public education and research university based in Macquarie Park, New South Wales. Macquarie University is one out of five universities in Australia that has received five stars based off of the international QS Stars rating system for a variety of different educational merits. The university has many different educational advantages such as having one of the most technologically advanced medical hospitals available on a college campus. Macquarie University offers a variety of different degree plans as well as a number of postgraduate courses. The university boasts one of the largest international student programs in Australia. PhD scholarships and other funding are always readily available on a merit basis.
There are numerous PhD scholarships that are used for international studies. The Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship and the International Merit Scholarship were designed to help cover the expenses of international study.
The Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarships are available to students studying a wide variety of courses which helps cover a significant range of the tuition fees of an international student in either and undergraduate of postgraduate degree. The Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarships are available for yearly renewal on a merit and satisfactory performance basis. It is important to note that Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarships are not available for certain postgraduate courses.
In addition, the Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship covers tuition costs but does not provide financial support for living expenses, visa applications, airfares, accommodation, health care needed for oversea students, and other costs associated with a student’s program of study. This scholarship can be awarded as an undergraduate scholarship as well as a PhD scholarship.
In order to apply applicants need:
- Must be citizens of a country other than New Zealand or Australia.
- Have achieved a GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale for postgraduate applications. Also must reach a minimum requirement of 96 out of 100 on the ATAR for undergraduate applications.
- Must have met requirements for the University academics or enrollment as well as English requirements as well as have a full admission to North Ryde, a campus for Macquarie University, before the application deadline.
The International Merit Scholarship is only a partial scholarship available to undergraduates as well as partial PhD scholarships. The merit scholarship offers up to $4,000 that is awarded to commencement fees or given as a reimbursement for already paid fees. This scholarship does not help to provide financial support for things such as the cost of visa applications, living expenses, health insurance for overseas students, conferences, airfares, or any other accommodation associated with study. The International Merit Scholarship is awarded as a singular scholarship and is does not qualify for renewal.
In order to apply applicants need
- Be citizens of a country other than New Zealand or Australia
- Have achieved University requirements in academics as well as English requirements as well as hold a full offer of admission for North Ryde by application deadline.
- Enrolled in a program that’s duration lasts longer than a single semester
- Have obtained a minimum GPA of 3 out of 4 for postgraduates and a minimum of 90 out of 100 ATAR for undergraduates.
- Must be enrolled in a full time study program
- Initiate study in the year and session indicated on the scholarship offer letter that may not be deferred.
