International Postgraduate Research Scholarships from Edith Cowan University Australia for 2014-15
Edith Cowan University is a public university based in Perth, Western Australia. The university was named after Edith Coward the first woman to ever be selected to the Australian Parliament. The university is the only university currently named after a woman in Australia. The school was granted university status in 1991 and is recognized as one of the leading schools for performance arts, nursing and midwifery, psychology, and education.
The universities namesake Edith Cowan left a legacy that the school continues to live by today. She worked to raise money for students to attend the university. She believed that education was the key to change, improvement, and growth. She believed that the university was a significant contribution and worked to provide a safe education environment to everyone regardless of race or gender, or economic means. She was an inspiration and the university that she left behind strives to uphold her views.
The Edith Cowan University is proud to be able to offer PhD scholarships and other postgraduate scholarships in research for international students. The International Postgraduate Research Scholarship are meant to be used for either Master’s studies or as PhD scholarships for international students wishing to study at Edith Cowan. The scholarship is given as a 2 year period for research Master degrees and as a 3 year period for PhD scholarships. The International Research Scholarship is an increasingly prestigious and competitive scholarship that is offered annually. The scholarship covers tuition fees as well as health insurance coverage throughout the duration of the recipient’s postgraduate research degree. Recipients of the International Scholarship are eligible to receive International Stipends which grant living allowances of $26,000 annually as well as tuition fees covered and health insurance for international students.
The International Postgraduate Research Scholarships recipients are considered on an academic and merit base as well as having demonstrated excellent research capability. The scholarship is available to students in any postgraduate courses offered at ECU. In order to apply for the PhD scholarships or other postgraduate scholarship the applicant must meet the criteria as well as have a completed research topic, any information or publications that the applicant has published or contributed to. Recipients are required to be seeking postgraduate education at Edith Cowan University as well as supply information on any other research grants that the applicant has received. PhD applicants must have prepared their research projects and portfolios. As with any PhD programme the applicants will be under the supervision of an advisor who is there to help steer them towards their goals. International students from any country are invited to apply as long as they are able to meet all the criteria and requirements needed to apply to Edith Cowan University as well as apply for scholarships.
