Fully Funded International PhD Scholarships at Macquarie University UK for 2014-15
The Macquarie University is the public research and teaching university located in Macquarie Park, New South Wales. The school is divided into five main faculties is one of the larger Australian universities population wise. The university was founded in 1964 and provides the largest current student exchange program available in Australia. The Macquarie University sees an annual enrollment of over 39,000 students.
There are many PhD scholarships available for students studying their doctoral degrees at Macquarie University. Currently we are going to review three of the numerously available PhD scholarships. These three scholarships are delivered by the same department. That department is:
- The Department of Physics and Astronomy
Each of these PhD scholarships is attached to a research project that is being conducted at the Macquarie University. Those research projects include:
- Non-Linear Laser Systems for Machine Learned Knowledge Discovery: The deadline for this research project is the 31st of July.
- Quantum Internet- Theory of Non-Linear Manipulation of Photon States Derived for On Chip Optical Quantum Networks: The deadline for this research project is a rolling deadline. The program will be open until the position is filled.
- Generating and Controlling Entanglements in Written Laser Quantum Integrated Glass Circuitry: The deadline for this research project is a rolling deadline. The program will be open until the position is filled.
Each of these PhD scholarships are all fully funded PhD scholarship opportunities. This means that recipients receive a tuition waiver for the domestic tuition rate as well as a generous stipend in the amount of AUD 25,392 annually. International applicants are still welcome to apply for these positions if they can demonstrate their ability to cover the difference between domestic and international tuition rates. These PhD scholarships are intended to last for a maximum duration of three years in a full time doctoral research program.
Requirements for PhD Consideration:
- The applicant must have an upper second class or first class honours degree or an impressive master’s degree in a subject relative to the research project they are hoping to be chosen for.
- Applicants are required to communicate efficiently. Applicants that originate from countries where English is not their mother language are required to submit language assessment scores. The IELTS or the TOEFL are acceptable.
- The applicant must compose a very clear and well thought out research proposal. The research proposal should be direct stating a firm hypothesis and then outlining the research the applicant anticipates conducting to prove or disprove their original hypothesis.
- The applicant is required to compose a thoughtful and personal essay or statement illustrating the reasons they believe that they deserve these fully funded scholarship opportunity and what they anticipate using their doctoral degrees for.
