Fully Funded International PhD Scholarships at Dublin Institute of Technology for 2014-15
The Dublin Institute of Technology is a school located in Dublin Ireland and is one of Ireland’s largest academic institutions. Though the institute in its current form has been around since 1992 the institute can trace its history back to the 1880’s as an association of the oldest technical institute in Ireland. The Dublin Institute of Technology sees a yearly enrollment of over 22,000 students.
There are many PhD scholarships available for students studying at the Dublin Institute of Technology. Currently, the Dublin Institute of Technology is offering a limited number PhD scholarships available to all applicants of the university. Theses PhD scholarships are offered through the academic institute and are all attached to various research projects. Those research projects are listed below:
- Food Waste for Production of Viable Enzymes: Deadline 20nd of August
- Electro-Chemistry Probing Interactions between Bio-Inorganic Compounds and DNA: Deadline 22th of August.
- Multifunctional Biodegradable Medical Device Coating: Deadline 20th of August
- Understanding Employee Commitments and Engagements in Irish Public Sectors: Deadline 31st of August
These PhD scholarships award full tuition scholarships for domestic and EU applicants. This means that for domestic and EU applicants these scholarships cover the full cost of tuition fees for the doctoral program. International applicants are still encouraged to apply as these scholarships are able to fund a partial amount, up to 75%, of international tuition fees. International applicants will be required to come up with the difference between tuition fees. In certain cases these tuition scholarships also have an annual stipend attached to them. The Dublin Institute of Technology offers an annual stipend in the sum of €16,000. These PhD scholarships are intended to last for a duration of four years in a full time doctoral program.
Requirements for PhD Scholarship Consideration:
- The applicant must possess a higher second class or first class honours degree, or a master’s degree in a relative research area as the one they are applying for.
- The applicant needs to be able to converse professionally. Applicants that are travelling from countries where English is not their primary language will be requested to submit English language valuation scores. The TOEFL or the IELTS are satisfactory for this request.
- The applicant must comprise a research offer that clearly demonstrates in detail the approach the applicant projects to take while performing their research. This includes having a clear outline and hypothesis.
- The applicant must compose a short personal declaration or composition that demonstrates their motivation for wanting to commence their research or doctorate program.
- The applicant must deliver all their preceding academic records as well an updated CV or resume.
- The applicant must supply two references. These references needed to be academic sources from positions relevant to the subject theme.
