260 PhD Scholarships from University of the Arts London for 2014

As a university specializing in arts and design, the University of the Arts London (UAL) serves as a centre for innovation composing six colleges with well known in the study areas of design, communication, performing arts, fashion and art and established during the 19th and 20th centuries. The university prepares its students to better fit in the creative industries through teaching, research and learning. Its teaching staff includes critics, theorists, practitioners, artists and designers. All its facilities include letterpress machinery, college archives and studio theaters. There are a number of exciting academic courses offered at the university including Camberwell postgraduate Conservation, MA Fashion Media Production and other PhDs. All of which can offer PhD scholarships such as the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships and the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships.

UAL’s vice-chancellor’s scholarships are designed and intended for its 250 students enrolled in full-time masters degree and are interested to start their course in September 2014 or January 2015. These PhD scholarships are aimed at helping students in need of financial aid to take postgraduate study. Successful candidate will then be entitled to half of the total tuition fee. Interested applicants are expected to be British nationals with less than £30,000 annual income or those who are recipients of means-tested maintenance grant or loan if they are already in the senior undergraduate year. Applicants are reminded that acceptance of applications will start in September 2014.

The Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships, which are founded to provide full support to 10 students from other countries outside the G20 group, offered to interested students of UK. Eligible applicants for these PhD scholarships are students of the Council for Assisting Refugee Academics. They cover the full tuition fee of scholars along with their stipend to pay for their living costs and accommodation. Applicants are expected to be international students from any of the developing countries offering full-time masters degree starting in 2014. The study grants can be applied along with the application process on the course preferred by students. Applicants are also recommended to register so that they will know more details about the scholarships.

Moreover, UAL is honored to offer both and other PhD scholarships to those who wish to pursue their study at the postgraduate years. It points out as well that these student grants are funded through private donations, philanthropic charities, university funds and company donations. The student awards come in different forms and can vary from fee waivers to complete support for one or more years. With all these, UAL prides itself to claim to produce students and/or graduates for Turner Prize nomination, most promising graduate artists for Catlin Guide, British Designer of the Year and Jerwood Photography Awards.
