110 Anniversary PhD Scholarships from University of Leeds for 2014

As one of the most notable and largest university in UK, University of Leeds welcomes over 5,000 international students every year. The university is reputable for its wide range of courses it offers providing students with simulating classes. It allows its students to take part in social activities, sports clubs, theater performance and music events. It serves as the founding member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Santander Network, the European University Association, the Worldwide Universities Network, and the White Rose University Consortium. Its postgraduate students benefit from its funding and its PhD scholarships. Its funding opportunities include the 110 scholarships annually. For 2015, the university is happy to offer its 110 Anniversary Research Scholarships.

The 110 Anniversary Research Scholarships are offered by the university to deserving students, which include for a maintenance grant and University fees for about three years. The scholarship grants provide additional investment amounting to £10 million to qualified students from the university itself. They are available to outstanding scholars enrolled in any discipline or course of study. Interested students are required to meet the criteria for eligibility and then submit the scholarship application form through specific deadline. Those who will be successful in their application of these PhD scholarships will get payment for their fees for three years with maintenance grant that is equivalent to the rate set by the Research Council UK at £50,000.

It is pointed out that the awards should be taken on October 1, 2014. They are intended to new research students taking part-time or full-time course. They do not cover any additional research costs or travel allowances. Successful applicants are expected to be residents in areas near to the university.

Moreover, automated email that confirms the receipt of application logged by the university’s Postgraduate Scholarships Office and then forwarded to schools where they are initially considered. Once all documents are submitted and everything is done, candidates can receive notification of the result of their application by June 2014. The University of Leeds will also publish the names of the recipients of the PhD scholarships.
