100 Fully Funded international PhD Scholarships from Northumbria University for 2014-15

The University of Northumbria at Newcastle or simply Northumbria University is a university stationed in Newcastle upon Tyne in North East of England. A studentship is fundamentally the same as a PhD scholarship or any other postgraduate scholarship. It provides funding for studies with the requirement of summer participation on a ongoing research project. It is awarded by different departments of study that provides funding of research for postgraduate students involved in specific projects. Studentships receive funding from an assortment of different venues from the Research Council to the individual academic departments or other venues. The studentships over a wide variety of different subjects from business law, health and life sciences, engineering and environment, as well as arts, design, and social sciences. While essentially working the same way as a PhD scholarship would studentships offer the recipients to participate in exciting new research projects such as immunobiology of cystic fibrosis or the regulation of forensic science just to name a few of the projects that are currently being worked on by Northumbria University.

Each of the projects underway with the studentships are under the supervision of professors and doctors that serve as advisors for the students. The Northumbria University usually offers up to 100 fully funded PhD studentships or more commonly understood as PhD scholarships. The studentships funds three years of study with an allowance of around £13,726 annually as well as full time housing and covers other additional fees. The eligibility and requirements does vary depending on the avenue of research the postgraduate applicant is wishing to pursue.  Applicants have to be able to contribute to ongoing research projects in order to obtain a studentship and not all departments will have research projects that will fit with a specific candidate. Applicants are encouraged to apply if they have outstanding academics and strive for excellence. Applicants should also have a portfolio put together for consideration that illustrates why they would be the superb choice for a studentship.
